Throwback Thursday*: 2019 Summer Vacation

A map of an eccentric park, covered in hand-drawn directions of what to see and in what order, was pressed into our hands by the taxi driver as we disembarked ready for adventure. If it sounds a little like something out of a book, well it felt a little like that too. But that episode sums up our entire stay in Portugal, fully of everyday bits of magic.

I fell in love with the patterns and colors of Portugal.

From the Cascais fish market and national parks to streets of Lisbon, the hills of Sintra and the beaches of the northern coast, I never expected to fall in love with Portugal in the way that I did.

After Portugal we went home to Germany, where we got to visit family, and even sneak in a date night at a local “hotspot.” Of course, since Germany is home, I had to spend a little time working to keep on track with the launch of the first book in Tooth & Spell, the Vogel boys trilogy.

And I got to close the trip with a visit to Prague. Pefection!

*Since this summer will have a lot less travel, I’m taking the opportunity to look back on some previous adventures!
